MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511021137 A) filed by Malaviya National Institute Of Technology Jaipur on March 08, 2025, for Automated System For Electrochemical Cell Testing And Health Assessment.

Inventors include Kapil Pareek; Tarun Kumar Sharma; Kartik Kumar; and Ramdutt Arya.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a system that performs automated testing of electrochemical cells/module with minimum human intervention. The system provides an all-in-one solution for cell testing, monitoring, and grading in a single setup. The system comprises plurality of robotic arms/system, infra-red (IR) sensors, electrochemical work station (EWS), testing chamber, personal computer (PC) and graphical user interface (GUI). The system provides facility to automate the process of cell testing, data collection, data processing to monitor and grading the cell/module. The system is capable of performing tests such as but not limited to charging, discharging, accelerated aging test, cycling, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge discharge. All the tests are performed in a novel testing chamber capable of managing testing temperature as per the nature of the test. The automation functionality is provided by a plurality of robotic arms/system, a plurality of actuators controlled by a processing unit, and a graphical user interface.
