MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611089230 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on July 22, 2026, for Automated System And Method For Rapid Multiplexed Aptamer Selection Using Convection- Diffusion In Three-Dimensional Hydrogels.
Inventors include Singh, Naveen Kumar; Kumar, Shivam; and Bhatt, Khalid.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: An aptamer selection system includes a column defining a flow path and configured to receive a plurality of hydrogel matrices arranged serially along the flow path, a pump fluidically coupled to the column, a controller configured to execute a selection protocol, and a wireless user interface configured to receive user commands. Each hydrogel matrix is configured to carry a target molecule. The pump drives an aptamer library through the plurality of hydrogel matrices by convective flow during loading, wash, and flush phases. The convective flow flushes aptamer sequences having lower affinity for the target molecule while retaining aptamer sequences having higher affinity at one or more hydrogel matrices. The controller may control flow rate, flow direction, or duration of pump operation, and may generate or support a timestamped experiment record associated with status data. FIG. 1
