Abstract: An automated straw holding device, comprises of an inverted U-shaped extendable plate 101 having the artificial intelligence based imaging unit 102 which determines thickness of the edge, a motorized drawer arrangement 103 provides extension to the plate 101 in accordance with the detected thickness to grip the edge in a secured manner, an ring 104 to insert a straw through the ring 104 through which the beverage is to be consumed, a motorized iris lid 106 to close to grip the straw, a ball and socket joint 105 provides multi-directional movement to ring 104 in accordance with the detected location of the mouth portion, a speaker 108 mounted over the plate 101 which produces voice command in order to notify user regarding the receded level, a robotic link 109 mapped over the plate 101 to cover opening of the straw via a cylindrical member configured with the link.
