Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated single axis solar tracking system designed to maximize the energy output of photovoltaic panels by continuously aligning them perpendicular to solar irradiance throughout the day. The system consists of a single axis rotational mount, a pair of light-dependent resistor sensors, a microcontroller-based processing unit, and a motor driver mechanism. The microcontroller conducts real-time differential light intensity analysis and closed-loop control computation within milliseconds to detect angular deviation and actuate the panel toward the optimal orientation. The LDR sensor hardware allows precise angular positioning of the photovoltaic surface relative to the sun's trajectory. The harvested energy data is logged and compared against fixed-mount baseline readings. It enables a measurable increase in daily energy yield for users through timely panel correction, shadow avoidance, and improved irradiance capture. The invention provides a high accuracy, low-cost, scalable solution for modern renewable energy installations in both open-field and rooftop environments.
