Inventors include Aayush Srivastava; Akash Kesav Shanmugaraj; and Dr. Avinash Ravi Raja.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: An automated, scanning-based welding and additive deposition system for repairing worn workpiece edges including a 3D scanning module utilizing optical and laser light to capture spatial data of worn regions, a processing unit compares this data against original CAD reference geometry to define a repair envelope and calculate volumetric deficits, a path generation module computes custom, ordered weld-pass toolpath sequences utilizing predetermined bead overlap ratios and edge taper compensations, a dual-alloy filler material subsystem delivers compositionally optimized wires to a welding torch, programmatically transitioning from base-matching alloys in early passes for metallurgical compatibility to wear-resistant alloys in outer layers within a closed-loop architecture.
