Abstract: ABSTRACT AUTOMATED RADIOLOGY REPORT GENERATION SYSTEM USING VISION TRANSFORMER AND BIOMEDICAL NLP The present invention discloses an automated radiology report generation system (100) for generating clinically relevant radiology reports from chest X-ray images using a two- stage pipeline. The system (100) comprises a data ingestion module (110) for receiving medical images, a data preprocessing module (120) with report cleaning, disease label extraction, and rare disease handling, an image feature extraction module (130) employing a RAD-DINO vision transformer unit (134) for extracting 1280- dimensional visual embeddings, a prompt generation module (140) for converting embeddings into discrete semantic prompts through quantization and five-bin discretization, a report generation module (150) employing a Clinical-T5-Sci transformer unit (154) with weighted loss prioritizing pathological findings, and an evaluation module (160) using ROUGE and BERTScore metrics. The system achieves BERTScore of 0.8678 demonstrating high semantic similarity to expert-authored reports. [
