MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611094544 A) filed by Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute Of Technology Jalandhar on August 04, 2026, for Automated Protein Dialysis Apparatus With Tds-Based Adaptive Cycle Control And Method Of Operating The Same.
Inventors include Mahesh Kumar Sah; and Sunny Mukherjee.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes an automated protein dialysis apparatus (100) for controlled purification of protein solutions. The apparatus (100) comprises a housing (102), a buffer reservoir (104) configured to contain a buffer solution, and a protein holding unit (106) having a semi-permeable membrane (108) enabling diffusion of low molecular weight solutes. A sensing unit (110) comprises a total dissolved solids (TDS) sensor (112) configured to generate time-varying dissolved solute concentration data. A fluid control assembly (114) facilitates controlled buffer exchange, and a user interface module (120) provides real-time visualization of dialysis progression. A control unit (130) processes the data to determine rate of change, detect diffusion stagnation, and automatically terminate dialysis cycles. The control unit (130) regulates successive cycles based on prior variations, enabling non-invasive monitoring, adaptive control, and improved purification efficiency.
