MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531030523 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan Deemed To Be University on March 28, 2025, for Automated Ophthalmic Eyelid Stabilization Device.

Inventors include Dr. Sangram Panigrahi; and Dr. Jasmita Satapathy.

Abstract: An automated Ophthalmic eyelid stabilization device, comprising of a platform 101 positioned over a fixed surface, an inflatable member 102 linked with a motorized air compressor 103, to inflate the member for allowing the user to comfortably accommodate the head portion, an imaging unit 104 to determine positioning of the user’s eye, a sliding unit 105 installed on lateral ends of the platform 101 to translate a L-shape telescopic rod 106 mounted over each of the sliding units 105 in vicinity to the user’s eye portion, a C-shape link 107 to extend and position in proximity to the user’s eyelids, a curved silicone member 108 to detect upper and lower eyelid of the user, a pair of motorized hinges 109 integrated at mid-section of the C-shaped links, to adjust positioning of the links to gently secure and stabilize the eyelids in an open position.
