A literary element detection engine identifies interpretative features including symbolism, tone, themes, motifs, character arcs, figurative language, and stylistic devices. A contextual interpretation module evaluates surrounding passages to determine the relevance and meaning of detected elements. An annotation generation module creates explanatory annotations, and an annotation categorization engine organizes the annotations into layered categories such as thematic, symbolic, stylistic, and character-development layers. An annotation linking module associates each annotation with corresponding text segments, and a confidence scoring engine assigns certainty values to generated annotations. An output module produces annotated documents, interactive interfaces, and machine-readable files in formats including JSON, XML, CSV, and EPUB. The invention reduces manual academic effort while maintaining contextual relevance and provides scalable literary analysis for educational technology, publishing, and digital humanities applications.
