Abstract: An automated grounding rod installing device comprises of a platform 101 positioned on a ground surface, an imaging unit 110 to generate a map of the surface that is displayed on the computing unit to select a spot at which the ground rod is to be installed, a pair of motorized caterpillar wheels 102 to position the platform 101 in proximity to the selected spot, a robotic gripper 103 to grip a ground rod from a chamber 111, a hydraulically operated L-shaped arm 104 to position a hollow cylindrical member 105 attached to the arm 104, a hydraulically powered hammering unit 106 for installing the ground rod, a telescopically operated L-shaped bar 107 to position a motorized clamp 108 attached with the bar 107, plurality of balls 109 to allow the ground rod to be inserted during striking despite being held in the clamp 108.
