MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541045961 A) filed by Insmart Systems And Automation Private Limited on May 13, 2025, for Automated Coal Quality Assessment System For Multi-Vendor Coal Sampling, Preparation, And Analysis.
Inventor includes Abhinav Bisen.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides an automated coal quality assessment system (100) for multi-vendor coal sampling, preparation, and analysis. The system (100) comprises a sample preparation unit (102) adapted to receive and divide coal samples from multiple vehicles for testing. Plurality of RFID-tagged sample containers (114), stored in automated storage racks (116), are used to retain divided coal portions. An automation handling unit (118) with robotic manipulators (124) transfers the RFID-tagged sample containers (114). A moisture analysis unit (126) performs surface and total moisture testing, while a thermal analysis unit (138) conducts thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and gross calorific value (GCV) testing. A centralized SCADA-based control and monitoring system (156) manages delivery order (DO) assignments, robotic movements, and time-stamped logging to ensure tamper-proof, contamination-free, and fully automated coal quality evaluation without requiring human intervention.
