Abstract: ABSTRACT Automated Academic Research Capability Assessment and Development System The present invention relates to an Automated Academic Research Capability Assessment and Development System configured to evaluate, analyze, monitor, and improve the research capabilities of students, researchers, faculty members, and academic professionals through an integrated intelligent digital platform. The system employs artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, competency modelling, adaptive assessment, research analytics, and personalized recommendation mechanisms to determine an individual's academic research proficiency across multiple competency dimensions, including research methodology, literature review, problem identification, hypothesis formulation, experimental design, statistical analysis, scientific writing, citation management, data interpretation, research ethics, intellectual property awareness, and publication practices. The system receives user responses, academic profiles, research documents, project information, assessment results, and optionally demonstrated research activities as input data. An intelligent assessment engine processes the input using competency-specific scoring models to generate a Research Capability Profile and identify knowledge gaps, skill deficiencies, strengths, and development priorities. A personalized development engine subsequently generates adaptive learning pathways, recommended resources, practice activities, assessments, research tasks, and progress milestones corresponding to the identified deficiencies. Continuous performance monitoring enables the system to dynamically modify recommendations based on subsequent assessment results and demonstrated improvement. A research readiness index and competency-wise scores are generated through an analytics module, while visualization interfaces provide understandable representations of current capability, developmental progress, and target proficiency. The invention further provides automated reports for learners, mentors, institutions, and research administrators, thereby supporting evidence-based academic research development. The system enables scalable, objective, continuous, and personalized research capability development while reducing dependence on manual assessment and generic training programs.
