Abstract: Abstract An academic document formatting system is disclosed for automated academic document formatting. The system receives .docx files, section labels, heading selections, citation text, tables, images and chosen APA or IEEE rules from students, researchers, unformatted word-processing documents and selected publication styles through an input interface. A conditioning portion prepares the received input by filtering, normalizing, parsing, segmenting or otherwise converting the input into a structured representation suited to the particular processing task. A decision portion then reads document structure, associates document portions with section labels, applies the selected style rules and writes a formatted document while preserving tables, images and captions. The system generates formatted .docx files, corrected heading levels, reference list layout, spacing, margins and style-compliance indicators through an output interface and stores a corresponding processing record. The arrangement links acquisition, conditioning, decision processing and output generation in one operative chain, because formatting rules are applied after each section has been explicitly labeled rather than by global formatting alone.
