Abstract: Navigating a large college campus can be difficult for new students, parents, visitors, and guests, especially when locating departments, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, auditoriums, and administrative offices. The proposed project, “Augmeaelitntedy– R Based Smart Navigation System for Campus Wayfinding,” aims to develop an interactive -fraiennd dluys ernavigation system using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The system allows users to select a destination within the campus through a mobile application. Based on the user's current location, the application displays virtual directional arrows, navigation instructions, and location information over the real-world camera view. GPS can be used for outdoor navigation, while QR codes, AR markers, Bluetooth beacons, or Wi-Fi-based positioning can support navigation inside buildings where GPS signals are limited. The proposed system provides an intuitive and engaging navigation experience compared with conventional campus maps and signboards. It can reduce the time required to locate campus facilities and improve accessibility for first-time visitors. The system can be further enhanced with voice guidance, multilingual support, accessibility-friendly routes, emergency navigation, and information about campus facilities. This project demonstrates the practical application of Augmented Reality and mobile computing in developing a smart, interactive, and efficient campus navigation solution.
