Abstract: The present invention relates to an atraumatic buccal fat pad handling forceps specifically designed for harvesting, mobilization, manipulation, support, and guided delivery of buccal fat pad tissue during oral and maxillofacial reconstructive procedures. The instrument comprises elongated handle members and terminating distally in narrow atraumatic jaws configured for delicate adipose tissue handling. The internal tissue-contacting surfaces of the jaws comprise finely microtextured atraumatic geometry adapted to provide controlled frictional engagement while minimizing adipose fragmentation, tissue slippage, and vascular injury. A central longitudinal pedicle preservation recess extends along the internal aspect of the jaws and is configured to reduce direct compression over the vascular pedicle supplying the buccal fat pad during tissue engagement. The jaws further possess a slim microsurgical profile suitable for posterior intraoral surgical access and may be provided in straight or pre-angulated configurations. The invention permits controlled low-pressure adipose tissue manipulation while improving preservation of vascular integrity and graft viability during reconstructive oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
