MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511016369 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 25, 2025, for Assistive Device For Operating Screwdriver.

Inventors include Dr. Satyavir Singh; and Dr. Pratap Singh.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: An assistive device for operating screwdriver, comprising an elongated telescopically operated frame 101 installed with a cylindrical hollow member 102 developed to be accommodated around shank of a screwdriver griper by a user, a C-shaped extendable member 103 is installed with frame 101 via a link 104 for providing a support to a screw to be screwed via screwdriver, a laser acuity sensor configured with member 102 for detecting diameter of shank, a motorized iris lid 105 embedded within member 102 to close for gripping shank, in view of securing frame 101 with screwdriver, a speaker 106 mounted on member 102 for notifying user to position screw in contact with tip of screwdriver, an imaging unit 107 for detecting length of screw, a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensor positioned on member 102 for detecting diameter of screw.
