Abstract: An assistive device for breaking hard ice, comprising a cuboidal body 101 positioned on a ground surface covered with hard ice, a pair of track wheels 102 arranged underneath the body 101 for providing movement to the body 101, an imaging unit 103 mounted on the body 101 that evaluates a 3D mapping of surroundings, a display panel 104 mounted on the body 101 for displaying the evaluated mapping, an inverted L-shaped telescopic bar 105 arranged on the body 101 to position a plate 106 attached with the bar 105 over the user-specified portion, a quick and return arrangement 107 integrated in between the plate 106 and bar 105 to extend/retract for providing back/forth motion to the plate 106 over the ice for applying an appropriate pressure onto the snow/ice and plurality of triangular-shaped blades 108 connected with the plate 106 to cut the ice.
