MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631053465 A) filed by Sinha, Kanishk; and Das, Lipika on April 27, 2026, for Artificial Intelligence Enabled Context-Aware Smart Eyewear System With Adaptive Optical Correction.
Inventors include Sinha, Kanishk; Das, Lipika; Sinha, Vitasta; and Sinha, Vaishnavi.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: An Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled context-aware smart eyewear system and method are disclosed. The system comprises an eyewear unit (102) including a sensing module (102-2), an eye analysis module (102-3), an adaptive optical correction module (102- 5), an output module (102-4), and a power management module (102-6), operatively coupled with a control unit (104) through a communication network (108). The control unit (104) comprises a processing unit (104-2), memory (104-4), and connectivity module (104-6) configured to process multi-modal environmental data and ophthalmic data associated with a user. The system dynamically determines refractive characteristics of the user, actuates electronically adjustable lenses, and generates context-aware visual and/or auditory overlays using augmented reality interfaces. The proposed invention further facilitates navigation assistance, obstacle detection, accessibility enhancement, ophthalmic monitoring, thermal visualization, and AI-assisted contextual interaction using edge and/or cloud-based computational frameworks associated with a remote computing unit (106).
