Abstract: ABSTRACT: Rapid urbanization has escalated the challenges of municipal solid waste management, necessitating the shift from static to dynamic collection systems. This paper presents an Al-driven, loT-enabled smart garbage monitoring system designed to optimize waste collection logistics and enhance public safety. At the core of the architecture is an ESP32 Microcontroller (106), powered by a regulated Power Supply (101), which functions as the central edge-processing node. The perception layer features a multi-sensor array: an Ultrasonic Sensor (102) continuously measures the volumetric fill level, while an MQ135 Sensor (104) and a Fire Sensor (103) monitor for hazardous gas concentrations and combustion events, respectively. To ensure precise spatial tracking, a GPS Module (105) geotags all sensory data. Processed telemetry is transmitted to a Cloud Database (109), where artificial intelligence algorithms analyze fill patterns to dynamically optimize truck collection routes. For local interaction, the system utilizes an LCD Display (107) for real-time status monitoring and actuates a Buzzer (110) during critical fire or toxic gas emergencies. Furthermore, a GSM Module (108) is integrated to dispatch automated SMS alerts to authorities when bin capacity reaches critical thresholds (50%, 75%, 100%) or when hazardous conditions are detected. By seamlessly bridging edge computing with cloud analytics, this proposed system significantly reduces operational costs, mitigates environmental hazards, and provides a scalable, data-driven architecture for smart city infrastructure.
