MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621085081 A) filed by Acropolis Institute Of Technology And Research on July 11, 2026, for Artificial Intelligence-Based System And Method For Crop Disease Detection, Pest Management, And Yield Optimization In Sustainable Agriculture.

Inventors include Kamal Kumar Sethi; and Narendra Pal Singh Rathore.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: An artificial intelligence-based system and method for automated crop disease detection, pest identification, severity estimation, and treatment recommendation are disclosed. The system comprises an image acquisition device (100), a preprocessing unit (104), a disease classification module (106) employing a deep convolutional neural network, a pest detection module (108) employing an object detection model, a severity estimation module (110), an advisory generation engine (112) operatively coupled to a knowledge base (114), a data storage and analytics unit (116), and a processor (118) with memory (120) configured to execute machine-readable instructions for crop health analysis. The system processes one or more crop images to perform image preprocessing, classify crop diseases, identify pests, estimate severity levels based on detected crop conditions, and automatically generate severity-dependent treatment and dosage recommendations. The generated diagnosis, advisory, and user feedback are stored for analytics and model refinement. The invention provides an integrated computer-implemented agricultural decision support system capable of automated crop health assessment, disease and pest management, and generation of treatment recommendations using artificial intelligence-based image analysis.
