Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent wearable navigation system designed to provide safe, reliable, and context-aware mobility assistance for visually challenged individuals in both indoor and outdoor environments. The proposed system integrates edge computing, cloud intelligence, computer vision, deep learning, and large language models into a unified smart eyewear platform capable of perceiving the surrounding environment, identifying hazards, estimating distances, planning optimal routes, and delivering real-time navigation guidance. The wearable device incorporates a camera, inertial sensors, positioning modules, microphone, speaker, and haptic feedback mechanisms to continuously capture environmental information. For outdoor navigation, the system detects static and dynamic hazards, estimates their spatial characteristics, and computes hazard-free optimal routes using intelligent path planning with dynamic re-routing. For indoor navigation, the system constructs a semantic representation of the environment by combining object detection, depth estimation, visual-inertial localization, and contextual scene understanding to guide users through GPS-denied spaces. A hybrid deep learning framework performs real-time obstacle detection and semantic classification, while multimodal sensor fusion improves robustness under varying illumination and environmental conditions. A large language model interprets scene information and user queries to generate natural spoken navigation instructions, supported by fallback audio and haptic alerts during communication or network interruptions. The proposed invention provides continuous indoor and outdoor navigation, intelligent obstacle avoidance, adaptive route optimization, and natural human-system interaction within a single wearable platform, thereby significantly enhancing the safety, independence, and mobility of visually challenged individuals.
