MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101508 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Artificial Intelligence-Based Self-Evolving Operating System Featuring Adaptive Kernel And Self- Healing Architecture.

Inventors include Shaman Sharma; Ma Kumar; and Deepak Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence based self-evolving operating system featuring an adaptive kernel and a self-healing architecture that employs an artificial intelligence-driven adaptive kernel configured to dynamically reconfigure kernel services, resource allocation, and execution policies according to hardware configurations, workload characteristics, and user behaviour. A bio-inspired self-healing mechanism continuously detects software and hardware failures, isolates faulty components, and restores system functionality by deploying verified replacement modules. The invention further includes an autonomous security engine configured to detect anomalies, mitigate zero-day cyber threats through real-time micro-patch generation, and implement a moving-target defence architecture. A generative module factory automatically creates compatible device drivers and kernel modules for previously unsupported hardware, while a cross-device migration framework enables seamless execution across IoT devices, personal computers, servers, and supercomputers. A telemetry and learning layer continuously optimizes performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and security, thereby providing a resilient, scalable, and future-ready operating system,
