Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence-based Remaining Useful Life prediction and adaptive protection method for electric motors. The invention continuously acquires electrical, thermal, and mechanical operating parameters using multiple sensors and processes the acquired data through one or more Artificial Intelligence models to estimate a Motor Health Index, predict Remaining Useful Life, determine fault probability, and classify motor operating conditions. Based on these predictions, an adaptive protection controller dynamically modifies overload, thermal, overcurrent, inverse-time, warning, and shutdown settings to provide predictive and adaptive protection rather than conventional fixed-threshold protection. The invention enables early fault detection, minimizes unnecessary tripping, improves equipment reliability, optimizes maintenance scheduling, reduces operational costs, extends motor service life, and facilitates integration with Industrial Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, cloud computing, and intelligent automation systems. The invention is applicable to industrial electric motors, renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, manufacturing plants, and other intelligent motor-driven applications.
