Abstract: An intelligent, artificial-intelligence enabled system has been developed for the automated determination of availability of medicines at nearby pharmacies. The system uses data about real-time inventories of pharmacies, medicines database, user location and cloud-based health care services to accurately determine availability of medicines, suggest pharmacies, recommend generic medicines and also compare prices. AI methodologies such as natural language processing (NLP), machine learning algorithms and recommendation systems have been used in the system to comprehend user query, find medicines and suggest the most appropriate pharmacy by considering real-time pharmacy inventory information. The system is deployed on the cloud, making it scalable, capable of performing real-time inventory synchronization and having low computational overhead on end-user devices. The system learns adaptively from changes in pharmacy inventory, medicines demand pattern and user search pattern. Furthermore, it sends notifications to users whenever out-of-stock medicines are available along with intelligent suggestions for generic medicines. The results of experimental testing have shown that the present invention is able to deliver a high level of precision regarding medicine availability prediction and pharmacy recommendation by significantly reducing the medicine search time and increasing healthcare accessibility. The present invention offers a framework for intelligent medicine availability detection, pharmacy recommendation and healthcare service delivery.
