Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE BASED HANDHELD DEVICE FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING The present invention discloses an artificial intelligence based handheld device (100) for English language teaching. The device (100) comprises an ergonomic housing (102), a processing unit (104) coupled to a memory unit (106), a touch-enabled display unit (110), a microphone (112), a speaker (114), a camera module (116), a communication module (118), a power source (120), an input interface (122), and a sensor unit (124). An artificial intelligence engine module (108) executed on the processing unit (104) includes an automatic speech recognition submodule (108a), a natural language processing submodule (108b), a text-to-speech synthesis submodule (108c), and an adaptive learning submodule (108d). An on-device content database (126), a user profile module (128), a progress tracking module (132), and a feedback generation module (134) cooperate to deliver adaptive, conversational, and offline-capable personalized English language tutoring in a portable form factor.
