Venkat Lakshmi; Mr. Madhava Rao Karri; and Dr. Jami Venkata Suman on June 24, 2026, for Artificial Intelligence Assisted Urban Flood Prediction And Drainage Response System Using Sensor-Fused Hydrological State Modelling.

Inventors include Dr. Maheswara Reddy Annareddy; Mrs. L. Bhavani Annapurna; Ms. P. Charani; Ms. K. Venkat Lakshmi; Mr. Madhava Rao Karri; and Dr. Jami Venkata Suman.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an artificial intelligence assisted urban flood prediction and drainage response system using sensor- fused hydrological state modelling. The system comprises distributed physical sensing units, a communication gateway, a sensor- fusion processing unit, a hydrological state modelling unit, a flood prediction unit, a drainage capacity estimation unit, a flood propagation inference unit, and a response prioritization unit. The system receives real-time rainfall, water-level, drain-flow, pump- status, gate-position, terrain, and infrastructure-condition data from a plurality of urban micro-zones and generates a confidence- scored hydrological state for each micro-zone. A dynamic drainage capacity index and flood propagation matrix are used to predict flood risk, predicted flood depth, time-to-inundation, probable duration, and spread direction before visible flooding occurs. The system further generates ranked response actions including pump activation, gate adjustment, cleaning-team dispatch, traffic diversion, and public warning generation. The invention enables early, location-specific, and infrastructure-aware urban flood management. Accompanied Drawing [FIGS. 1-2]
