The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence (Al)-based orthodontic finishing and detailing assessment system configured to analyze standardized post-treatment intraoral photographs and orthopantomograms (OPGs) following orthodontic space closure. The system automatically evaluates occlusal relationships, alignment, torque, marginal ridge levels, root angulation, interproximal contacts, midline coordination, occlusal cant, and esthetic parameters. The system integrates evaluation criteria derived from the American Board of Orthodontics Objective Grading System (ABO-OGS), the Six Keys to Normal Occlusion described by Lawrence F. Andrews, functional finishing principles described by Rebecca Roling, and Raleigh-Williams treatment keys. Using deep learning-based segmentation models, landmark detection algorithms, and a rulebased biomechanical recommendation engine, the system generates objective finishing scores, discrepancy alerts, corrective treatment suggestions, relapse risk indicators, and a debond readiness index. The invention enhances objectivity, reproducibility, and efficiency in orthodontic finishing assessment.
