Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved arc chute assembly (1) for low voltage switchgear, designed to enhance arc quenching efficiency and reduce arcing time. The assembly comprises multiple de-ion plates with distinct profiles, including Type-1 de-ion plate (4) with an inverted V-profile or W-profile, Type-2 de-ion plate (5) with a V-profile or Zig-Zag profile, and Type-3 de-ion plate (6) with a dual bend profile. These de-ion plates are held and trapped in a de-ion shield, consisting of a top de-ion shield (2) and a bottom de-ion shield (3), without the need for additional processes such as crimping or adhesive application. The strategic placement of the de- ion plates ensures efficient arc quenching, minimizes contact erosion, and extends the lifespan of the contacts. The invention simplifies the assembly process, reduces product cost, and improves the performance and reliability of low voltage switchgear components.
