Abstract: Disclosed is technology that, when a collector containing Al is employed in an aqueous battery, makes it possible to suppress elution of Al from the collector to an aqueous electrolyte. An aqueous battery according to the present disclosure comprises a positive electrode, an aqueous electrolyte, and a negative electrode. The positive electrode and/or the negative electrode has a collector containing Al. The collector is in contact with the aqueous electrolyte. The aqueous electrolyte contains: water; potassium polyphosphate which is dissolved in the water; and at least substance which is dissolved in the water and which is selected from among potassium hydrogen phosphate, phosphoric acid, polyphosphoric acid, and carboxylic acid.
