Abstract: APPLICATOR DEVICE FOR DISPENSING DISINFECTANT FLUID An applicator device (100) for dispensing disinfectant fluid comprises a cartridge (120) sealed with a rupturable barrier (124), configured to contain 0.5 to 100 mL of antiseptic fluid, and detachably engaged with a fluid delivery device (140) via a dual-level locking mechanism. A triadic spike (141) within the fluid delivery device (140) pierces the rupturable barrier (124) upon intentional activation. Disinfectant fluid passes through a colorant-infused porous material (148) for in-line tinting. An absorbent pad (150), attached to a flange (145) via a snap-fit mechanism (149), comprises a gradient porous structure having different pore densities, providing controlled fluid uptake, retention, and discharge. The snap-fit mechanism (149) seals a bottom opening of the fluid delivery device (140) when the absorbent pad (150) is attached, directing flow exclusively through the pad (150). The device (100) eliminates glass ampoules for sterile, single-use preoperative surgical skin preparation. Figure. 1
