Abstract: An access and mobility function (AMF) for a communication network is provided. The AMF is configured for receiving from a dual steer device via a first 3GPP access path, a first registration request to register the dual steer device with the AMF. The first registration request comprises a first identifier associated with a first user equipment identifier of the dual steer device. The AMF is also configured for obtaining, from a unified data management entity, first subscription information associated with the first user equipment identifier, the first subscription information comprising a first linked subscription identifier, and sending, to the dual steer device, a first registration accept message, the first registration accept message comprising a first Globally Unique Temporary Identity GUTI allocated to a first registration of the dual steer device. The AMF is also configured for receiving from the dual steer device via a second 3GPP access path, a second registration request to register the dual steer device with the AMF. The second registration request comprises a second identifier associated with a second user equipment identifier of the dual steer device. The AMF is also configured for obtaining, from the unified data management entity, second subscription information associated with the second user equipment identifier, the second subscription information comprising a second linked subscription identifier; determining that the first subscription information and the second subscription information are linked based on the first linked subscription identifier and the second linked subscription identifier; and sending, to the dual steer device, a second registration accept message comprising a linking identifier and a second GUTI allocated to a second registration of the dual steer device, wherein the linking identifier indicates that the AMF has linked the first registration and the second registration.
