Inventors include Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Dr. Aditya Pratap Singh; Edwin Kujur; and Akshat Kewat.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT An apparatus (100) for variable rate agricultural spraying comprising a hexacopter airframe (102) carrying a multispectral imaging camera (124), a rechargeable power source (116), a kinetic energy recovery turbine (104) mounted beneath the hexacopter airframe (102) and configured to extract electrical power from propeller downwash airflow and supply the extracted electrical power to the rechargeable power source (116), and a MCU (106) configured to receive image data from the multispectral imaging camera (124), compute normalized difference vegetation index values from the image data, compare the normalized difference vegetation index values against a stored prescription map to determine a target application rate, and command a variable-rate spray pump (108) to adjust volumetric flow rate to achieve the target application rate. The variable-rate spray pump (108) operates in a regenerative mode during reduced-flow conditions to return recovered electrical energy to the rechargeable power source (116). FIG. 1
