MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514119108 A) filed by Air Products And Chemicals, Inc. on November 28, 2025, for Apparatus And Process For Limiting Thermal Stress For Heat Exchangers.

Inventors include Robert G. L. Courtney; Alan D Berger; Simon Gibson; Matthew Mundy; and Fang Xu.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: An apparatus for heat exchangers can include a mechanism or flow control processing arrangement that can be configured to maintain a temperature profile of the internal components of a heat exchanger within a pre- selected temperature range during periods of non-operation of a plant process or facility to help reduce the thermal stress incurred by the heat exchanger and its internal components. Embodiments of the heat exchanger apparatus and process of heat exchanger operation can facilitate maintenance of a pre-selected temperature profile in a heat exchanger during periods of non-operation or non-use and also facilitate quicker start-up operation when plant processing is to resume with heat exchanger operation.
