Abstract: Apparatus and methods for identification of microbial presence are described, wherein the apparatus includes at least a nanopore, at least a nanopore reader, and a control unit, wherein each of the at least a nanopore reader comprises a plurality of flow cells, at least one of which is configured to accept a sample, and at least a detector connected to the plurality of flow cells and configured to detect a signal as a function of at least a translocated microbe from the sample, wherein the control unit is communicatively connected to the at least a detector and configured to receive the detected signal, correlate its intensity with at least an attribute of the detected signal, and determine at least an identity of the at least a translocated microbe as a function of the correlation.
