MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621055886 A) filed by Sage University on May 01, 2026, for Apparatus And Method For Redundant Verification Of Returnable Transport Assets With Tamper Detection.
Inventors include Dr. Prashant Jain; Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Prof. Ruchi Shrivastava; Ujjawal Tripathi; and Pankaj Chakariya.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT An apparatus for redundant verification of returnable transport assets with tamper detection includes a first radio frequency identification reader circuit (102) and a spatially separated second radio frequency identification reader circuit (106), each interrogating tamper-evident tag assemblies (104) affixed to returnable transport containers across respective interrogation zones. A hardware processor (108) correlates first and second tag data by matching electronic product codes against registered asset identifiers stored in memory (110), generating correlated asset records comprising timestamps and received signal strength indicator values. The hardware processor (108) detects signal strength anomalies by comparing received signal strength against a baseline range, and determines verification status based on temporal intervals relative to a verification window, establishing confirmed present, partial confirmation, or missing alert states. A first alert signal and a tamper alert signal are transmitted to a recipient device (116) upon detection of missing or tampered returnable transport containers. FIG. 1
