MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621053544 A) filed by Sage University on April 27, 2026, for Apparatus And Method For Monitoring Groundwater Level And Generating Depletion Alerts.

Inventors include Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Dr. Hemang Shrivastava; Deepak Birla; Neha; Nayan Joshi; and Madhu Chirgute.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to groundwater level monitoring and depletion alert generation. The apparatus (102) includes an ultrasonic distance sensor (104) and a hardware processor (106) operatively coupled to the ultrasonic distance sensor (104). The apparatus (102) acquires water level measurements from the ultrasonic distance sensor (104) at periodic intervals. The hardware processor (106) computes a rate of water level decline based on the acquired measurements and historical water level measurements. When the computed rate exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the hardware processor (106) generates an alert condition. Upon alert generation, the apparatus (102) transmits a short message service text message and initiates an automated voice telephone call streaming a pre-recorded audio message in a selected regional language to a preconfigured mobile telephone number, enabling timely groundwater depletion warnings through dual-mode multilingual communication.
