Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an apparatus (102) and a method (200) for detecting deficiency of iron. The apparatus (102) includes a data acquisition unit (104) operatively coupled with a cooking aid (106) to acquire one or more parameters associated with food. A processor (110) is communicably coupled with the data acquisition unit (104), the processor (110) including a memory (112) storing a set of instructions. The processor (110) executes the set of instructions to receive the one or more parameters associated with the food and process the received one or more parameters to obtain one or more features. An Artificial Intelligence (AI) model (110-1) analyses the one or more features to control a dispenser (108). The dispenser (108) dispenses a predetermined amount of iron in the food during preparation, the dispenser (108) being operatively coupled to the data acquisition unit (104).
