MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621048502 A) filed by Sage University on April 16, 2026, for Apparatus And Method For Forensic Voice Evidence Acquisition.

Inventors include Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Dr. Prashant Jain; Dr. Rashmi Yadav; Nikhil K. Rath; and Riya Dixit.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to forensic voice evidence acquisition. The apparatus (102) includes an enclosure (104) having a front housing piece (106) and a rear housing piece (108), with an actuator boss (110) molded integrally into the front housing piece (106). A tamper detection switch (112), mounted at an edge portion of a printed circuit board (114), remains closed when engaged by the actuator boss (110) and changes state upon physical separation of the housing pieces. A microcontroller (116), coupled to a microphone (118), a clock circuit (120), and a storage device (122) with a write-protect register, receives digitized audio data and timestamps, combining them into immutable data blocks. Upon detecting housing separation, the microcontroller (116) records a tamper event to a protected sector of the storage device (122), activating the write-protect register to preserve all audio data and tamper events as a tamper-proof forensic evidence record.
