The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A portable forensic acquisition apparatus (100) for acquiring digital storage media includes a capacitive fingerprint sensor (102) comprising a liveness detection circuitry (104) configured to apply alternating current electrical signals to a presented surface, measure impedance frequency, and generate a query fingerprint template upon confirming living tissue. A secure element (110) receives the query fingerprint template, compares the query fingerprint template against fingerprint templates stored in a tamper- resistant memory (106), and generates a cryptographic custody token (108). A forensic processing circuit (112) verifies the digital signature, stores the cryptographic custody token (108) in a write-once memory (114), and transitions a general-purpose input-output pin as the sole hardware signal enabling a write-blocking bridge (116) to acquire forensic image data into an internal solid-state storage drive (118). Environmental monitoring circuits (120) bind sampled temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure values to the cryptographic custody token (108) and the forensic image data. FIG. 1
