MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621061982 A) filed by Sage University on May 15, 2026, for Apparatus And Method For Enhanced Tamper-Evident Environmental Monitoring Of Temperature-Sensitive Goods.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to tamper-evident environmental monitoring of temperature-sensitive goods. The apparatus (100) includes a sensor node (102) and a gateway controller (104). The sensor node (102) acquires environmental measurements, with a hardware processor (106) assembling data packets including temperature values, humidity values, geolocation coordinates, timestamps, and sensor node identifiers. A cryptographic co-processor (108) generates signed data packets comprising hash digests and digital signatures. The gateway controller (104) receives and verifies each signed data packet against a stored public key, then commits verified transactions to a distributed cryptographic ledger (120) retained across a plurality of independent computing nodes, ensuring immutable and tamper-evident recordkeeping. Upon detecting temperature or humidity values outside acceptable ranges stored in the gateway controller (104), an alert signal is generated and transmitted to at least one designated recipient device, enabling timely intervention to protect the integrity of monitored goods.
