Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to automated plant tissue culture transfer. The apparatus (102) includes a combination end- effector (104) mounted on a single mounting bracket (106) for cutting, gripping, and transferring plant shoots, a three-axis gantry robot (108) for positioning the end-effector, and a hardware processor (110). The hardware processor (110) receives image data from an imaging device (112) and converts the image data to a hue-saturation-value color space representation. Non-healthy regions with hue values outside a predetermined range are segmented to determine contamination status of culture vessels. Upon confirming a non- contaminated vessel, shoot position coordinates are extracted and motion control commands are generated to direct the three-axis gantry robot (108) to position and actuate the combination end-effector (104). The apparatus (102) thereby performs aseptic transfer of plant shoots to fresh culture vessels, automating a previously manual process while ensuring sterility and eliminating contaminated vessel handling.
