MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621053541 A) filed by Sage University on April 27, 2026, for Apparatus And Method For Automated Forensic Scene Documentation.
Inventors include Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Saloni Jain; and Archit Vishwakarma.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to automated forensic scene documentation. The apparatus (102) includes a multi-spectral sensor assembly (104) that acquires multi-spectral imaging data and three-dimensional coordinate data within a common geometric reference frame during rotation about a scene. A pattern recognition processor (106), operatively coupled to the multi-spectral sensor assembly (104), identifies forensic features by determining concurrent presence of complementary spectral characteristics at identical surface locations across multiple spectral channel pairs. The pattern recognition processor (106) classifies identified forensic features based on the concurrently present spectral characteristics and derives a confidence score reflecting the degree of spectral concurrence across the channel pairs. The apparatus (102) generates an annotated three-dimensional point cloud dataset embedding, for each classified forensic feature, a three-dimensional bounding box, a classification label, and the confidence score, producing a spatially registered record of classified forensic features and corresponding confidence scores across the documented scene.
