Abstract: The present invention relates to an antiviral and antimicrobial protective gel formulation comprising a monoglyceride system, silver solution or colloidal silver, a polyacrylic acid polymer, a neutralizing agent, and purified water. The monoglyceride system comprises glyceryl monolaurate (GML), glycerol monooleate (GMO), and glyceryl monostearate (GMS). The formulation provides antiviral and antimicrobial protection through disruption of lipid membranes and inhibition of microbial activity, while enabling improved retention on skin or applied surfaces. The gel matrix imparts stability, spreadability, moisturizing characteristics, and skin compatibility, thereby reducing irritation commonly associated with alcohol-based products. The invention further provides a method for preparation of the gel formulation comprising hydration of the gel matrix, preparation of the monoglyceride system, incorporation of silver, emulsification, neutralization, and homogenization to obtain a stable protective gel formulation suitable for healthcare, hygiene, personal care, and protective applications.
