MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073859 A) filed by Sr University on June 15, 2026, for Antimicrobial And Antifouling Surface Fabricator And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Sarath Chandra Veerla; Thirumala Rao Gurugubelli; and Dr. Babu Bathula.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTIFOULING SURFACE FABRICATOR AND METHOD THEREOF ABSTRACT An antimicrobial and antifouling surface fabricator (100) is disclosed. The fabricator (100) comprising a substrate (102) to receive multilayer deposition, a chitosan-based coating layer (104) disposed over the substrate, an alginate-based coating layer (106), reduced graphene oxide (108) to provide antimicrobial functionality and structural reinforcement, and a zwitterionic outer surface layer (112) disposed over the multilayer nanostructure (110) and configured to reduce microbial adhesion and biofouling. The fabricator (100) provides antimicrobial protection, antifouling performance, nanoscale controllability, structural reinforcement, and environmentally compatible surface fabrication. The fabricator (100) supports long-term operational stability, multifunctional surface protection, and sustainable coating fabrication for biomedical, industrial, marine, and environmental applications. Claims: 10, Figures: 2 Figure 1 is selected.
