Abstract: The present invention relates to an antibiotic composition of a fourth generation cephalosporin, a ß-lactamase inhibitor and an ion chelating agent. More particularly, the present invention relates to an antibiotic composition comprising of cefepime, tazobactam and ion chelating agent. The ion chelating agent in synergistic amount reduces the MIC of an antibiotic, increasing stability after dilution of antibiotic composition and breaking biofilm of the resistance bacteria. The antibiotic composition is effective for controlling bacterial infections in hospital settings, more specifically in controlling pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infection and urinary tract infection.
