MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088515 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on July 20, 2026, for Anti-Fatigue Floor Mat Having A Channelled Deck Carried Upon Compliant Pillars.
Inventors include Jyoti Sehrawat; and Indrajeet Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: A floor mat (100) has a base sheet (30), an array of discrete compliant pillars (22) upstanding from it, and a deck (10) carried on the pillars presenting the standing surface. The deck carries channels (14) with slots (16) through it, and a continuous void (24) lies between deck and base sheet, discharging at perimeter outlets (42). Because the deck is stiffer in bending than the pillars are in compression, a load compresses the pillars and the deck descends bodily, so the channel section is not squeezed shut as it is in a mat of one compliant body. Cushioning is set by the pillars and drainage by the channels, independently. Liquid leaves the standing surface at the first channel and travels beneath it.
