MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092941 A) filed by Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College on July 31, 2026, for Anti Drowsiness Detection Using Water Sprinkler Alert.

Inventors include Dr. P Raja; Dr. T. Deepa; Dr. N. Saranya; and J. Gajalakshmi.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: TITLE: ANTI DROWSINESS DETECTION USING WATER SPRINKLER ALERT 5 The titled invention discloses a portable wearable anti-drowsiness detection goggle to continuously monitor eye activity and provide immediate alerts upon detection of prolonged eye closure. The system comprises an eye blink sensor (1) to detect eyelid movement using infrared sensing, a microcontroller (2) to process eye-state signals, 10 a relay module (3) to control a water pump (5), a buzzer (4) to generate an audible warning, a tactile alert (6) in the form of a controlled water spray, a goggle frame (7) supporting the components, and a rechargeable battery (8) for portable operation. During operation, the eye blink sensor (1) continuously transmits eye-state signals to the microcontroller (2). When the detected eye closure exceeds a predetermined 15 threshold, the microcontroller (2) simultaneously activates the buzzer (4) and the relay module (3), which energizes the water pump (5) to deliver the tactile alert (6). The invention provides a compact, lightweight, cost-effective, rechargeable, and vehicleindependent anti-drowsiness detection system capable of reducing fatigue-related accidents through continuous real-time monitoring and an effective dual-alert 20 mechanism.
