MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611084350 A) filed by Uttaranchal University on July 09, 2026, for Anti-Corrosive Composite Material By Using Cu/Ti Nanoparticles With Citrus Fruit Peel And Agri Residue.
Inventors include Ajay Singh; Rahul Gaur; Asima Imtiyaz; and Aakarsh Chaudhary.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: An eco-friendly, anti-corrosive composite liquid formulation and a method for its synthesis and preparation are disclosed. The formulation consists of a liquid extract base derived from botanical and agricultural waste residues, specifically comprising 50 parts by volume of citrus peel extract, 25 parts by volume of eucalyptus leaves extract, 10 parts by volume of pine needles extract, and 15 parts by volume of rice husk extract. Dispersed within this botanical base is a nanoparticle phase comprising 2.5% by weight of biogenically synthesized copper ("Cu" ) nanoparticles and 2.5% by weight of titanium ("Ti" ) nanoparticles. The copper nanoparticles are prepared via a green pathway using a copper sulphate precursor and citrus peel extract as a reducing agent, followed by drying and calcination in a muffle furnace at 300°C. The resulting stable liquid composite is rich in bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, flavonoids, lignin, and silica, which act synergistically to form a protective layer, chelate free metal ions, and create a water-repellent barrier on metallic substrates.
