MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421098421 A) filed by Asian Paints Ltd. on December 12, 2024, for Anti-Condensation Paints Made Up Of Pu Microsphere With Acrylic-Polyurethane Hybrid Polymers.

Inventors include Kirankumar Nehete; and Chandrashekara R Haramagatti.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: Anti-condensation paints made up of PU microsphere with acrylic-polyurethane hybrid polymers Anti- condensation paint/ coating formulation (pigmented system) for interior wall application is provided as a solution to control the water condensation on wall very effectively without compromise on performance properties of coats/paints in comprising polyurethane microsphere embedded in hybrid dispersion of acrylic/ styrene acrylic polymer with high Tg and PU copolymer based anionic dispersion as polyester polycarbonate based polyurethane anionic dispersion, which gives desired anti-condensation effects of upto 70% along with superior paints performance properties like scrub resistance, scuff resistance (R=80-93 out of 100), Stain resistance (Rating 135-145 out of 150) and dirt pick up resistance (DPUR)(R=9 out of 10) along with crack bridging ability (up to 0.5 mm), superior block resistance (R=9 out of 10).
