Abstract: ABSTRACT ANTI-ARTHRITIC PHYTOSOMAL GEL COMPRISING EXTRACTS OF LUDWIGIA ADSCENDENS, PITHECELLOBIUM DULCE, DICHANTHIUM ANNULATUM AND BERGENIA CILIATA AND METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF The present invention relates to an anti-arthritic phytosomal gel comprising extracts of Ludwigia adscendens, Pithecellobium dulce, Dichanthium annulatum, and Bergenia ciliata incorporated into a lipid-based phytosomal delivery system. The extracts are obtained through solvent extraction and complexed with phospholipids and cholesterol using a thin-film hydration technique to form nanosized phytosomal vesicles. The optimized phytosomes exhibit enhanced physicochemical stability, improved skin permeation, and efficient delivery of bioactive phytoconstituents. The phytosomal dispersion is incorporated into a pharmaceutically acceptable gel base suitable for topical administration. The formulation contains flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, alkaloids, and other therapeutically active compounds that provide anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-arthritic effects. The invention offers improved bioavailability, sustained release, localized therapeutic action, reduced systemic side effects, and enhanced efficacy in the treatment and management of arthritis and related inflammatory disorders.
